Duplicate games are now available in Wurdian
Duplicate is a new way to play Wurdian in which everyone receives the same letters and plays from the same board position. Equal letters, equal chances.
What is Duplicate?
In a standard game, players take turns and draw different letters. In Duplicate, the letter draw is shared. Every player searches for the best move with exactly the same rack, while one shared board moves forward after each round.
How each round works
- Every player sees the same rack and the same board.
- Each player submits one move before the turn timer expires.
- The highest-scoring submitted move is placed on the shared board.
- Every player keeps the score for their own submitted move, even when another move is placed on the board.
- A completely fresh rack is drawn for the next round.
A different kind of word-game challenge
- There is much less draw luck because everyone receives the same letters.
- You can compare your move directly with the moves submitted by other players.
- Each round rewards vocabulary, scoring knowledge and board vision.
- You do not need to save tiles or plan which spaces to open for a later turn: every round starts with a fresh rack.
Play solo, with a group or in a tournament
Duplicate games can be played solo or with as many as 100 players. Wurdian tournaments can also use Duplicate mode, giving every participant the same letters and board in each round.
